The Shogun tour was off to a hell-of-a start. The Ichi-Bons were bonafide stars back home in Japan, but even they were impressed with the audiences they’d been pulling in on their first American tour. And they were riding in style. Paddy’s greaser cousin had let them borrow his brand-spanking new '53 Chevy. He’d switched out the V6 for a screaming V8 that barely fit under the hood, and the thing ran like a bat out of hell…until it didn't. The radiator blew just outside of Lambertville, and the band had to push two tons of steel to the only garage this one-horse town had to offer. The clock was ticking, and the Ichi-Bons' Ed Sullivan debut was starting to look more and more like a pipe dream.
