This cuff features patterns and symbolism inspired by the artwork and folklore of the Navajo people. As some of the earliest settlers of the Four Corners region of the American Southwest, their history in this area goes back to 1400 A.D. The figure in the centre of the cuff is known to the Navajo as the Thunderbird—a supernatural being that provides protection against evil spirits. It is believed that the wingspan of this mystical creature is so enormous, that as it flies overhead, all you can hear is the sound of thunder.
